Course Description And Objectives:

Objectives

  • Understand the possible connection of magnetic fields and different types of cancers.
  • Learn the different types of magnetic fields, types of radiation produced, and their effects.
  • Learn what types of cancers are associated with different types of external exposures to magnetic fields.
  • Understand how magnetic field cancers affect males and females differently.
  • Gain an understanding of how magnetic fields are used to diagnosis cancer and treat cancer.

Course Description

Understand the possible connection of magnetic fields and different types of cancers.  Humans are exposed to a complex mix of man-made electric and magnetic fields (MFs) at many different frequencies, at home and at work. Epidemiological studies indicate that there is a positive relationship between residential/domestic and occupational exposure to extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields and some types of cancer.

This activity may be available in multiple formats or from different sponsors. A self-learning activity can be completed only once per biennium.
